Students’ Council
The Bell Students’ Council includes elected student representatives from each grade, led by a Head Boy and Girl, as well as other appointed members. Any student can participate in General Student Council.
Natalia Bushnik and Dylan Bartley, Head Girl and Head Boy for 2011-2012.As representatives of the student population, Students’ Council plans a wide, eclectic range of activities from dances to fundraising events for those in need in our community and beyond. The students of Bell High School have been recognized by the United Way for their outstanding contributions during the annual fund raising campaigns over the years.
Students' Council is in charge of organizing many important events throughout the year, including Leadership Camp, 30 Hour Famine, Pancake Breakfast, Battle of the Grades, the school dances, the blood drive, spirit days and other events. Students' council also provides a link between students and the board-wide Student Senate, the maintainence of the school's website, and providing volunteers for other school activities.
Bell's Students' Council elects and appoints its members between April and June for the following school year, with the exception of Grade 9 Representative, who are elected in September. Students' Council is governed by the Students' Council Constitution.
General Council
All members of the student body are invited to attend Students’ Council general meetings in room 124 every Wednesday at 12:00. Events and ideas are proposed and discussed here, and volunteer opportunities are given.
