October Events Update

With September now behind us, the administration, clubs and student organizations are planning a great variety of events for October.

For Halloween, every is invited to participate in the Halloween For Hunger food drive, which is an opportunity to earn community service hours and raise food for the food bank. Forms may be picked up in the lobby at lunch time. More Volunteer Opportunities »

Key Club is also organizing a Halloween Teacher Auction as a fundraiser. Students may place bids on teachers including Mr. Cook, Mr. Stanutz, Mr. DesBrisay and Mr. Taylor for the chance to dress them up for Halloween. If you're interested, bring your money on Tuesday, October 27, and go to the cafeteria at lunch.

Students Council is organizing a dance for October 30 - "In the Jungle", from 7:30 to 10:30pm. Tickets will go on sale on October 21-23 for $6 and October 26-30 for $7. There are a limited number of tickets, so get them before they're gone!

Bell High School is also hosting its annual Academic Awards evening for students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 who have achieved the honour roll or will be receiving another award on October 28 at 7:00pm. Invitations were distributed for eligible students on the 7th of October.

LINK Crew: There will be a FREE movie night Thursday October 15th for all grade 9s and LINK leaders. Popcorn, pizza and drinks all free from 3:30 to 6pm.

Bell's Interact Club is holding its annual road cleanup on October 26 to 27 afterschool. They are participating in the provinces Adopt a Road program by helping keep Cedarview Rd. clean. Interested students should listen for announcements for Interact meetings.

Model UN at Bell is holding a conference at Bell on the 20th afterschool. Interested students should contact Eric Wu.

There are three notable academic clubs this year at Bell. Community Science Club will be hosting astronomy nights pending clear weather and will be hosting fun experiments. In math, Integral Math Club will be hosting math contests and cracking programming enigmas. University Math Club offers advanced math puzzles and instruction for qualified senior students.
