Purple Pinkie Project to end Polio worldwide!!

2011-05-11 - This year the Interact club is conducting an event called the Purple Pinkie Project in hopes to raise funds for the eradication of polio worldwide. Polio has not been a problem in Canada for many years, but this is not the case in many developing countries. In 1985, Rotary International began raising funds in an effort to eliminate Polio worldwide. By partnering with the World Health Organization and other government and private groups, Rotary International has achieved a 99 percent reduction of Polio worldwide.
