General Information

This is a grade 10 course. This course is a Science course, and more information can be found at the Science and Technological Studies department. Prerequisites: SNC1D, SNC1P or similar.

Course Description

This course enables students to develop a deeper understanding of concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics; to further develop their skills in scientific inquiry; and to understand the interrelationships among science, technology, and the environment. Students will conduct investigations and understand scientific theories related to: ecology and the maintenance of ecosystems; chemical reactions, with particular attention to acid-base reactions; factors that influence weather systems; and motion.

This course is an ESL course. Those participating in the ESL program may choose to take this course. For the standard English course, see SNC2P.

This course is an applied course, which focuses on the essential concepts of this discipline. This course develops studnets' understanding by using pratical applications and incorporates theoretical applications when appropriate. Course work focuses on real-life situations and using extensive hands-on applications of course concepts.
