General Information

This is a grade 11 course. This course is a Science course, and more information can be found at the Science and Technological Studies department. Prerequisites: SNC2D, SNC2P or similar.

Course Description

This course focuses on the processes involved in biological systems. Students will learn concepts and theories as they conduct investigations in the areas of cellular biology, microbiology, animal anatomy and physiology, plant structure and physiology, and environmental science. Emphasis will be placed on the practical application of concepts, and on the skills needed for further study in various branches of the life sciences and related fields.

This course is a college preparation course, which will prepare students for most college programs and their related careers. This course will use concrete examples of theoretical material, as well as emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, independent learning and learning skills.
