General Information

This is a grade 11 course. This course is is a Mathematics course, and more information can be found at the Math, Business and Computer Science department. Prerequisites: MPM2D or MFM2P.

Course Description

This course introduces basic features of the function by extending students? experiences with quadratic relations. It focuses on quadratic, trigonometric, and exponential functions and their use in modelling real-world situations. Students will represent functions numerically, graphically, and algebraically; simplify expressions; solve equations; and solve problems relating to applications. Students will reason mathematically and communicate their thinking as they solve multi-step problems.

This course is a university or college preparation course. This course will focus by giving students skills relevant to both university and college settings, and their associated careers. Both theoretical and application-based learning methods are used for the course content.
