Hello,

Student Council hosted their second successful dance of the year this past Friday night. A sold out crowd of 400 students enjoyed this their favourite dance with a semi-formal theme. Special congratulations go out to Mrs. Bouchard and her diligent work with dance co-ordinators Jack Dippel and Johnny Nguyen in putting together this spectacle enjoyed by both students and staff.

Course Contracts/Option Sheets

Students in grades 8 - 11 as well as those returning grade 12′s should note that the date for submission of course contracts with course choices for next year has passed. Students yet to complete their online option sheet, print it, have it signed by parents and returned to student services must do so as soon as possible to insure most of their course choices for next year. Student requests drive which courses are offered as well as the staffing process. Where listed courses are not requested by enough students these courses cannot run.

Please note that guidance counselors remain available to address questions as we work our way through this new on-line process together. While we have anticipated as many of the glitches as possible, new ones are coming up that require us to deal with. If you are having issues and need to speak to someone, please call the school @   613 828 9101   and request your child’s guidance counselor. While it is important to complete option sheets relatively soon, please know that time is still on both our sides.

Progress Reports for Semester 2
Each semester every student at Bell HS receives a progress report card in each of their classes approximately 6 weeks into the semester. This anecdotal report is designed to give parents a snapshot of their child’s progress in each of their classes. These reports are followed closely by parent-teacher interviews where parents have the opportunity to sit one-on-one with classroom teachers. This semester, progress reports will placed in the local mail on Friday March 11, 2011 and parents should expect arrival during the week of March break (March 14 – 18).
