AP Courses

Advanced placement courses grant students the opportunity to earn advanced standing at many Universities. These courses require a strong curiosity about the subject and the willingness to work hard. Bell High School currently offers AP exams in the areas of Calculus, English, French, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Physics. Students interested in enrolling need to speak to subject teachers to initiate the process. Teachers reserve the right to decline admission based on student skills and availability. For more information about the Advanced Placement program, visit http://www.collegeboard.com/.

In May of 2010 24 of our students wrote 33 Advanced Placement (AP) exams with excellent results. 26 results were at the top levels of 4 or 5 in Calculus B, French Language, English Literature, Physics B, Micro and Macro Economics. Generally, AP Physics B is taken as a classroom course complementing the standard curriculum in both grade 11 and grade 12. AP Calculus is taken as a single classroom course in grade 12 as well. The other courses are offered often as an extracurricular activity, but their format varies from year to year.

If you have questions or concern about AP courses, or you want to enroll, please contact the guidance office or the teachers of the appropriate subjects for more information. Mr. Tim Stauntz is in charge of the administration of AP courses at Bell High School.
